The Leukocyte Receptor Complex encodes proteins that regulate a variety of immune cells. There is tremendous genetic diversity within this gene cluster. Our research focuses on polymorphisms within this complex that alter expression and function of the receptors particularly in natural killer cells. We are investigating how the diversity impacts the immune response to pathogens such as cytomegalovirus as well as probing the mechanisms leading to altered expression and function.
