Dr. Oksana Suchowersky MD, FRCPC (Neurology), FCCMG is a Professor of Medicine, Medical Genetics, Pediatrics and Psychiatry, and the Toupin Research Chair in Neurology at the University of Alberta. Prior to 2011, she was Professor in the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences and Medical Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary, Co- Director of the Movement Disorders Program at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, and Head of the Department of Medical Genetics (2005-2010). Her research interests lie in the management of movement disorders, diagnosis of neurological genetic disorders, and genetics testing of adult-onset hereditary disorders. She serves on several editorial boards including Nature Clinical Practice Neurology. She has over over 200 peer-reviewed publications and is the editor of 2 books on Movement Disorders. Dr. Suchowersky has received a number of awards over the years, and has been named as one of the Best Doctors of Canada.
